Bio
Dave Anderson is an emotive singer/songwriter from Perth, Australia. He has spent the past 8 years living in 3 different major cities, London, Sydney and his newly adopted home of Melbourne. His self funded debut album was released mid 2008, titled Wish It All Away, which picked up rave reviews in his former home city of Sydney. Despite 4 stars from Sydney Morning Herald, and 3.5 from the Sunday Telegraph, without a major label push, Anderson’s record remains a hidden treasure for those seeking to discover.
Unphased by the apparent doom surrounding the music industry, he put his album out for a ‘pay what ever you like’ price, and instead focused his attention on simply enjoying music. Having now finally settled in Melbourne, he has formed a band with good friends Glyn Wallens on drums, Bridget A’Beckett on keys/violin, not to mention sweet vocals, and former UK native Karl Evans on bass guitar.
Setting up residency at their local wine bar on Sunday afternoon’s, it was apparent to not only the band, but to the ever growing audience, that something special was evolving.
And so, January 2010, Dave Anderson and the Wine Merchants were born.
