“Torn between what I love and what I believe, and just how real as these things that I perceive?”
Kent Eastwood, aside from being a top guy, is an unbelievably underated singer/songwriter floating around the depths of Sydney’s jazz cellars. I first heard him play at an open mike, and have since been to about 5 or 6 of his gigs. Taking a lot of influence from ‘the boss’ Bruce Springsteen, Kent’s tunes are predominately acoustic and piano driven ballads, with more than a little passion flowing through his live performances.
You won’t find his music in the mainstream or in the high street shops (well except on itunes!), which is why I wanted to share it with you. My favourite tracks are nestled up the back of the album – “Song for Cinderella” and “Better Place”. I’m also a fan of “Differences” which opens the album.
I won’t crap on anymore, but if you are in the ‘could do with something new’ mood, and want to support a local independent artist then here you go.
