A friend asked me the other day what I was listening to. To be honest I’m finding it hard to get massively inspired by new music at the moment.

I’ve probably been too busy to dig around and find something inspiring. (As a mental note I should release my album this time next year).

I’ve signed up for last.fm and paid my money so I’m hoping I get inspiration from a ’sounds like’ artists off that. I bought the new Ben Harper and that’s getting good airplay in the car. Just have’t driven enough lately.

Since I last posted something on what I liked and didn’t liked (and for anyone who actually reads this), the new Gomez was also a slow burner. No where near as in your face as the last one, which means I’ve spent a lot more quality time with it.

I’ve also given Lisa Hannigan and Nizlopi a fair scratching. Lisa used to sing with Damien Rice and I’ve been hanging for an album from her for ages.

Whilst I might be in a little bit of a lull now I know there is some serious releases coming. Off the top of my head (and without researching) I think we’ve got:

- Pearl Jam
- Dave Matthews
- Wilco
- Damien Rice (surely…)
- Paul Dempsey
- David Ford (apparently he is recording now so might be a while off)

Anyway that’s a good enough list for me. There were rumours abound that Ben Harper would be supporting Pearl Jam on their tour later in the year. How good.
